Island Vibes at Mai Tai Bar

Overlooking the gorgeous Rainbow Harbor at The Pike in Long Beach, Mai Tai Bar brings the island vibes into a hip and modern venue with live music.  Whether you’re looking to relax in their open air patio overlooking the water and groove to the best in contemporary island music by Long beach’s hippest bands, it is always a fun time there.  Sip a chilled mai tai and watch the sunset on the harbor as live music or a hot dj heat up the night!

Mai Tai Bar is definitely a place for the friends to hang out and have a great night out in the town on the pier.  On a weekend night, there is a $5 cover charge and it can be overcrowded, but the friendly bartenders hook it up the alcohol with their not-so-bad prices.  When the dj spins, the latest music are being played, but Mai Tai Bar loves to take it back and play the “oldie, but goodie” songs from the 90s and early millennium, which always gets the crowd dancing.  Mai Tai Bar’s customers are always there looking for a good time.  So as long your looking to have a fun night or a good dinner, this is place guarantees Aloha happiness!  Also, below is a list of their happy hour menu:

Saturday Night in Hollywood!!!

Saturday nights in Hollywood never tend to disappoint. I was lucky enough to get invited to a club in Hollywood by one of my dearest friends, Chelsea. We went to a place called XIV. I was under the impression that it was a full fledged club, however it was more of a bar/lounge that played great music. I actually enjoyed this atmosphere much more than a club because it wasn’t jam-packed or hot inside AND I still got to dance.

We got in for free since we were on the guest list and upon arrival we ordered two drinks by telling the bartender to make us something sweet and with Vodka. It was pricey, $24 for 2 drinks (and they were not very big), but for Los Angeles/Hollywood I think that’s a decent price. Luckily we had begun drinking before and took taxis to get there.

Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere of XIV and I would definitely consider coming again and would recommend it to everyone. The music was fun, the crowd was diverse, and the whole layout of the place was really upscale. The outside terrace area was a really nice contrast to the dark and loud, yet fun interior.

So, if you are ever in Hollywood check out XIV!

Cheers!

Deal of the Day: Chili’s Grill & Bar

Now that it’s everyones favorite day of the week, it’s time to find out where you’ll be headed after school or work to let loose. Today I’m going to recommend Chili’s Grill & Bar, located just minutes from UCR’s campus at 12525 Frederick Street, Moreno Valley, CA. Although they do not have a special specifically for Monday, they do have a pretty decent Happy Hour menu and some great food. If you head over to Chili’s anywhere from 3:00pm – 7:00pm or 9:00pm-close, you’ll find a large array of deals located in their bar area. Here’s a list of their specials:

  • Large Domestic Beers: $3.99
  • Small Domestic Beers: $2.99
  • Super Premium Draft: $1.00 off
  • Margarita: $4.50
  • Premium Margarita: $5.99
  • Well Drinks: $3.75
  • Specially Priced Appetizer Menu

As you can see, you really only benefit from the domestic beers and well drinks but one thing is for sure.. their margarita’s will have you feeling pretty tipsy by the end of the night. It seems like restaurants are removing their daily specials but I’ll be searching for one next week. Until then, “I want my baby back, baby back, baby back… ribs.”

Cheers!
