Drink of the Day: Hawaii’s Breeze

So today’s drink of the day is based on a fabulous drink I had when I was on the big island of Hawai’i. I ordered this drink at a sushi place called Wasabi’s in Kona, HI. This tasty treat was sweet and simple, but it tickled my taste buds and I was very glad I ordered it.

Ingredients:
Vodka, Fresh Guava Juice, and Lime Juice.

Directions:
Pour 1/3 part vodka and 2/3 cup fresh guava juice into a chilled glass. Squeeze as much lime juice as you see fit to top it off. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.

I hope this easy, yet satisfying drink leaves you as cheery as I was when I drank it! (Oh and not to mention I had an Asahi beer and some hot sake). If you ever travel to the big island, check out Wasabi’s. Their sushi and cocktails are definitely worthwhile.

Cheers!

What is YOUR favorite Liquor?

Here at LiquorCabinets we tend to have a strong affinity for Margaritas.

They can be sweet, sour, tart and even have a little kick to them. How can you possibly go wrong? Even so I think all of us can enjoy a beer here and there, some good wine, and occasionally liquor. So YOU tell us, what’s your favorite liquor?

If you chose other as your option, let us know which 🙂

Cheers!

Island Vibes at Mai Tai Bar

Overlooking the gorgeous Rainbow Harbor at The Pike in Long Beach, Mai Tai Bar brings the island vibes into a hip and modern venue with live music.  Whether you’re looking to relax in their open air patio overlooking the water and groove to the best in contemporary island music by Long beach’s hippest bands, it is always a fun time there.  Sip a chilled mai tai and watch the sunset on the harbor as live music or a hot dj heat up the night!

Mai Tai Bar is definitely a place for the friends to hang out and have a great night out in the town on the pier.  On a weekend night, there is a $5 cover charge and it can be overcrowded, but the friendly bartenders hook it up the alcohol with their not-so-bad prices.  When the dj spins, the latest music are being played, but Mai Tai Bar loves to take it back and play the “oldie, but goodie” songs from the 90s and early millennium, which always gets the crowd dancing.  Mai Tai Bar’s customers are always there looking for a good time.  So as long your looking to have a fun night or a good dinner, this is place guarantees Aloha happiness!  Also, below is a list of their happy hour menu:

Drink of the Day: Fresh Mint Margarita

This drink is considered more of a summer drink, but with this weather that won’t make up it’s mind, I thought it wouldn’t be a crime to tell you all of this refreshing  and tart drink.

It’s good when you want something refreshing, and you might need something to quench your thirst. Just remember, it’s not water!

Ingredients:

  • 1/8 of a cup of chopped mint leaves
  • 1/8  of  a teaspoon rock salt
  • 1 cup of  crushed ice
  • 1/3 of a cup of your favorite (preferably good) tequila.
  • 1/4 of a cup of squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 of a cup of Curacao Liquor (such as Triple Sec)

Directions:

  • Take your chopped mint leaves and salt, crush them at the bottom of your glass with the blunt end of a spoon, etc.
  • Add your ice, tequila, lime juice,  Curacao liquor and stir.

P.S. If you’re enjoying this with friends, just multiply the ingredient amount by the amount of drinks you want to make 🙂

Cheers!

Deal of the Day: Bj’s Restaurant and Brewhouse

Are you in the mood to go out tonight, but just don’t know what to do? Well, why not head on over to BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse! Their happy hour is Sun-Thurs 10pm-close. This includes half off mini pizzas and $2 off select appetizers.

Their buffalo chicken pizza is my personal favorite. Although their late night happy hour does not include any drink specials, they do have some really yummy handcrafted beers and ciders. The berry burst cider is my drink of choice.

So if you have never been to this wonderful restaurant and brewhouse, you should make a night out of it and try it out! If you have been, then I am sure you know how great the food and drinks are. Hope you have a fabulous rest of your Thursday!

Cheers!
